About the Company

     
  Our producers are small to mid-sized family farms and cooperatives in the United States and Canada. Maple Valley brand syrup is available through health food stores, natural food co-ops, restaurants and as an ingredient in many fine natural food products.

Our Philosophy
Is to bring you 100% pure and organically produced maple products. This means not only offering you a non-artificial, additive and preservative free product, but also bringing you a socially and economically responsible commodity. Great effort has gone into selecting woodland farmers whose standards represent stewardship to the environment and our planet. 

Even though illegal, many maple farmers tap trees with formaldehyde.  Organic standards assures that no chemicals are used and sustainable harvesting is done.  No formaldehyde is used in tapping the trees.  No synthetic pesticides or herbicides are used in woodland management.  Limits are set on the number of taps in each tree, to help ensure the well-being of the tree.

The only way for us to be in business is to offer you QUALITY. We do this by selecting those maple producers who pay great attention to the fine science of making maple syrup. When mother natures says it’s time to let the sap flow, a producer may spend weeks nonstop collecting, dumping, filtering and boiling the sap, measuring brix (sugar) content, rotating pans, checking and double checking temperature, draining off different grades, cleaning equipment, packaging syrup into containers, and many other tasks! The result for you is a very high value product that we feel deserves a fair price for both the producer and the user!

  Recipes: use instead of brown sugar in many recipes (if replacing baked goods, must also decrease amount of liquids overall to compensate for the additional liquid in the syrup)

Breakfast:

  • heat as is for pancakes
  • toast pecans and then add maple syrup to heat it; maybe add some sliced bananas at the end
  • Boil Frozen Wild Blueberries or fresh or dried berries with some maple syrup and use that as your syrup on top of pancakes or French Toast.
  • Blueberry-Maple Muffins
  • add it to plain yogurt, maybe add a dash of vanilla too
