Elsewhere throughout the world, however, the cattle are pasture raised. Grass-fed cattle are healthier. They live and eat as they were designed, on the land. The impact on our environment is severely decreased from grass-fed cattle. facility is a state-of-the-art, technology leading facility, certified QAI.
This meat arrives FRESH to us and fresh to you! We also have some
supply that is frozen as we freeze whatever is not sold within 3 days to
maintain freshness. Beef is 91% lean and comes from Uruguay.
Getting lots of rain and lots of undeveloped land, grass grows year-round.
Cost is lower because it's easier to maintain grass-fed cattle and land is
less expensive. Uruguay has some of the most advanced techniques for
beef production. They export into 60 countries including Europe and
Japan. They have had no case of mad cow disease and the cattle are
treated properly. In the U.S., cattle is usually shipped to the
processing plant adding stress. In Uruguay, the plant is there on the
ranch so there is no added stress from transportation to the processing
plant. This facility has been certified organic since 2000.So what's the difference?

| Conventional cattle are raised in crowded
stressful environments. They are regularly fed antibiotics to ward off
illness from the cramped inhumane facilities. They are fed grain, not
a natural food for a ruminant animal, so they are not strong and healthy,
nor do they impart the same nutritional benefits to us when we eat grain-fed
beef. They are transported to feed lots for fattening up, and are
transported to plants for slaughter creating even more stress.
Feed lots create a "waste management" issue that pollutes our environment.
Grass-fed cows eat the grass and then fertilize it. Natural beef is really no better. It's a meaningless label designed to fool us into thinking it is better for us and the environment. Natural is simply a label that means nothing is added to the packaged product. All meats, fruits and vegetables qualify as "natural" no matter if they are sprayed with pesticides, crammed in tightly together, or treated well. Natural is a label that means nothing. Organic meets standards set to eliminate growth hormones, antibiotics, and pesticides. This is particularly important for produce and processed foods. Poultry are treated more humanely with organic standards (you wouldn't believe the standards otherwise!) and organic has a huge value in certification. However, with fish and cattle, it's a bit different. Most grass-fed cattle, even those in the U.S., do not use hormones, antibiotics, or pesticides on their animals or on their land, but they are not certified organic because of processing or red tape or expense. Our supplier has guaranteed that he does not use these chemicals and that his cattle do live under organic standards. They don't slaughter "down" cows and are very careful in processing. Organic grass-fed beef insures the health of the cow, their living conditions, impact on our environment, and nutritional value to us. Grass-fed beef is the important aspect, from a reputable company. Organic takes it a step further in certification. |
