It's true. You will notice something
different about the fruits and vegetables you get from Delicious Organics.
Typically organic fruits and vegetables don't last as long as their
chemicaled cousins, but the produce you get from Delicious Organics is super
fresh, only days before it was still growing in the ground!, so you will
notice that it does last longer than the organic produce you used to get at the
grocery store. We, at Delicious Organics, take steps to keep
each item at the optimal temperature to ensure freshness, even on it's way
to your door! To make sure you keep your produce fresh, we offer
storage tips throughout the site for almost every fruit and vegetable.
It's important to store each fruit and vegetable properly to maintain freshness.
Your delicious organic produce will last from one and in some cases up to
two weeks when stored properly! Many fruits and vegetables (and even flowers) release gases during the
natural ripening and aging process after being picked or harvested. We
can take advantage of this. To speed the ripening
of bananas, for example, place them in a closed paper bag with a
couple of apples! If not careful, however, this same process can cause
fruit and vegetables to deteriorate quickly. Evert-Fresh bags make it
easy to store your produce properly. The Green Bags remove these gases
to prolong the life and freshness of your fruits and vegetables.

So what's so
important about maintaining the beauty of an apple or the quality of a
tomato. It's not just the flavor (fresh organics are much more
delicious than their chemicaled cousins, of this there is no doubt) and
texture and aesthetics on our plate. It is the nutritional value!
Once picked or ripened, fruits and vegetables begin to lose their vitamins
and nutritional value. That's why fresh fruits and vegetables are
vitally important! And, after all, if we're going to the trouble of
eating brussel sprouts, shouldn't we get the most bang for our buck?!
Speaking of bang for the buck, it is also the cost of throwing out fresh
produce that we just didn't get around to eating and that's frustrating too.
Kept properly, fresh organics are a better value for our environment, our bodies,
and our pocketbooks. These Green Bags really help keep the delicious
organics you get longer and fresher (up to 10 times longer!) and more nutritious.

Evert-Fresh Green bags, and only these bags, are
made of a natural mineral found in remote caves in Japan that naturally
absorb the gases that produce enzymes and cause vegetables
to deteriorate. Other bags use chemicals to absorb the gas.
These bags breathe to allow damaging gases
to be released.
Evert-Fresh bags also reduce light which can zap away vitamins. The
bags
maintain an appropriate level of humidity
and have an anti-fog surface that help reduce moisture and prevent water
droplets from forming. This helps inhibit bacterial growth as well as
fungus, mold, and decay.
All of these things work to extend the life of produce 3 to 10 times
longer and significantly reduces the loss of vitamins.

Tips
for using your Evert-Fresh Bags and helping them work even better!
-
Keep produce cool
-
Keep produce dry.
-
Store produce in a dark place.
-
Don't overcrowd the bag.
-
If you wash your produce, dry it
well before placing in the Evert-fresh Bags.
-
Don't mix produce, use a
different bag for apples, lettuce, etc.
-
Use the bag to store produce
that is ripe and ready to eat.
-
Add a natural paper towel or a
natural coffee filter in the bag with the produce to absorb excess
moisture.
- Press out the excess air in the bag.
- If excess moisture forms during the "cool
down" process, wipe out with a paper towel. It's important to
keep the bag dry inside.
- Fold excess film under (don't use twist ties
as they make little holes in the bags.)
- Rinse the bags out after each use, this
refreshes them and you can use them over and over, up to 8, maybe 10
times!

Story Behind The Bags
Scientists involved in Antarctic exploration were searching for ways to
prolong the freshness of produce. During their research, they found a
region in Japan where for thousands of years farmers have been storing
produce in mountain caves with amazing results. The caves were dark,
consistently cool, and dry. The key to the remarkable preserving
properties of the caves was a clay called “oya” that the cave mountain was
made of. The oya absorbed the ethylene gas that produce gives off as
it matures.
Evert-Fresh bags combine ancient knowledge
thousands of years old with space age technology for preserving produce. All
that, in a simple, green bag. |

I must admit that I was very skeptical at first
and thought that I would at least try one of your green bags. The herb
stayed fresh for weeks. My husband who always cooks with fresh herbs and
complains when they rot after just a few days, couldn't believe how
fresh everything stayed after even one week. He was not ready for the
herb lasting more than three weeks! To say he was impressed is an
understatement, indeed! We live in rural Nova Scotia and now, we won't
have to always make our once a week trip into the big town for
groceries. Now, we can keep our vegetables, fruit and herbs longer and
maybe reduce the number of trips to the store. Thanks for such a great
product!! |

Last week I bought your bags because I thought
there had to be an alternative to the waste I was generating by not
eating the produce in time. I was throwing out bags of produce every
week because I wasn't getting to it in time. Watercress and spinach
begin to rot almost immediately and if you don't eat them right away...
Last week when I came home, I washed everything, dried it and put it in
the evert-fresh bags. It stayed fresh and crisp (with no visible signs
or smells of rotting). I am thrilled. Thanks for saving me money, time,
and let's not forget the environment. No more plastic bags. |

Your product is fantastic! I read about it a year
ago in my local paper but could not find Evert-fresh bags at any grocer
until three weeks ago. Now, I'm hooked but the grocer doesn't have any
more and couldn't remember even stocking them. Why? Because these bags
are so incredible that I won't be tossing uneaten, rotted herbs, veggies
or fruits and I won't have to rebuy them. I'm going to be saving lots of
money in the future thanks to you. Glad I was able to purchase online. |

It's scary (but great) how long fruits and veggies
last in your 'green bags'. |
|
I bring ONE of them to dinner hostesses as gift
instead of a bottle of wine!! |

I am an avid gardener and these bags are the best
I have found on the market when it comes to keeping produce fresh!
Freshly picked green beans remain crisp for at least 2 weeks! Cukes and
broccoli the same! I share most of my produce with neighbors and
co-workers and these bags have been a big hit! I guess the best
advertising is word-of-mouth! Thanks! Dan |

I was also introduced to these wonderful bags at
Kings in Northern New Jersey (shame on you Kings for not carrying them
anymore!). I have two homes, so keeping an adequate stock of fresh
produce on hand at both places (we're big veggie eaters!) was always a
problem before Evert-fresh. Considering how much rotten fruit and
veggies I used to throw out, these bags are the biggest food value
going. |
