Just Tomatoes makes a wonderful brand of
dried fruits and vegetables. If you haven't tried them, these are not
the dried fruits that are gooey, these are dried, crispy, and airy. They taste
light, sweet and are the real thing with no additives at all. Just
Fruit or Just Veggies! Eat them as a snack or add them to your meals
and drinks.
This is an easy way to get fruits and
veggies into the kids because they taste good and can be eaten with their
hands. They also are easy to pack into lunch boxes and travel very
well. In fact, that's how this company was first created. They
would dry tomatoes for themselves for hiking trips and a friend kept saying
how delicious they were and asked what they were, what was added, and they
replied "Just Tomatoes" and the company name was born. These dried
Vegetables are also easy additions to soups and stews. The peas are
great to add to Arroz Con Pollo, for example, and are easy to have on hand
(like frozen peas only Just Peas can be eaten as is like popcorn too!)

Just Tomatoes Products Kosher?
Yes, but they are not certified Kosher. Their products are produce—all
they do is take the water out. Nothing except fruits and vegetables are
dried on our equipment—absolutely no meats of any kind are dried at our
facility. No oils of any kind are used on our equipment where it might
come into contact with our products. They have a letter explaining their
process in detail that they would be happy to send you. Most
people who keep Kosher find Just Tomatoes products acceptable.

Storage Tip: Keep them
in your cupboard with the lid on. Keep the products in the dark (so
colors won't change), in a dry place at room temperature. Cupboards or
pantries are perfect. Just not by a heat source—like over a stove or oven.
Keep away from fluorescent lights—it will fade the colors. For long term
storage, the freezer is best—keeping optimum quality indefinitely.
