Homeopathy is an ancient, safe, effective system of natural medicine that treats the entire person - body, mind, emotion, and spirit.  Widely accepted in Europe, India and other parts of the world, it is gaining popularity in the U.S.

Consultations are really in-depth interviews about the personality and health of the person as well as the symptoms which bring us there.  If bringing your child, be prepared to share your pregnancy and birth stories of that child as well as detailed information about his or her personality.

Homeopathic remedies come from nature (plant, mineral or animal) and allow our body to heal itself naturally by stimulating our natural defense systems.  Supporting the "vital force" of the person, homeopathy works to strengthen the whole person and increase the overall vitality of the person.  Based upon the Law of Similars, that "like cures like," the remedies may surprise you but they truly work.

Homeopathy treats the person instead of the illness.  Instead of treating the disease itself (the virus or bacteria), homeopathy treats the whole person while taking symptoms, overall health, stress, environment, emotional state, and personality of that particular patient into account.  Homeopathy understands that each person is unique and that the symptoms and emotions of each person must be taken into consideration in treatment.

Homeopathic remedies are completely safe.  However, taking the incorrect remedy or taking a remedy longer than prescribed may exacerbate the symptoms.  Be particularly cautious, as with regular drugs, that something you take or do may counteract the full effect of the treatment.  Let your homeopath or physician know about anything else you take or do (acupuncture, for example) regularly so they can best guide you.  Unlike mainstream drugs, however, homeopathic treatments need not be considered for possible interactions or side effects.

Basic Guidelines:

  • Homeopathic remedies should not be touched; drop the pellets into the mouth from the cap or a spoon.
  • Use the pellets or tincture as directed.
  • Pellets are sweet and are easy for children to take.
  • Don't eat or drink 15 minutes before or after taking the remedy.
  • Avoid x-rays & major dental work while being treated.
  • Strong smelling substances have been known to counteract the effectiveness of a some homeopathic treatments, even if exposed to them up to two weeks prior to taking the remedy or after a successful treatment.  Each person is different and your homeopath can best advise you, but you may be asked to avoid Coffee (including decaf), Mint (strong mint flavors or aromas, strong mints like Altoids, strong mint flavored toothpaste), Herbal Tea and Medicinal Herbs, Aromatherapy, and strong Perfumes.  Be particularly cautious of strong smelling essential oils including:
    • Tea Tree
    • Eucalyptus
    • Camphor
    • Menthol
    • Peppermint
    • Patchouli
