Armed with only a pen and paper, and concern for our customers best interest, we ventured into a neighborhood health food store. We were astonished at what we saw, as much as what we didn't see, and what we were told!
Leaving with pages full of notes and a smile, we realized Delicious Organics offers:

Fresher Quality of Organic Produce and organic groceries - we move it out as quickly as we receive it and you get it only days after it was harvested meaning it is fresher, more nutritious, and will last longer in your fridge! That's a better value: for our bodies and for our pocket books!

Delivery - Brought to My Door & Unpacked in My Kitchen - (check our new expanded delivery schedule to better serve you! We are expanding our in-store pick up and shopping hours too; stay tuned! We are open holidays and weekends now too, but please call first to confirm we are not out on a delivery; we'd love to meet you! We are conveniently located off I-95 and Ives Dairy Road.) Better Prices - yes it's true, our prices are LOWER! Every time we've compared local grocery stores as well as other online services, farmer's markets, and even coops, Delicious Organics customers appreciate a SAVINGS in dollars.

All this and you are supporting organic farmers, biodynamic farming practices, healthier foods for you and your family, small new companies (we search out other new companies who care about ingredients and we carry many products you won't find anywhere else!) with healthful ingredients; we share your values of family and good food. We truly care about our fruits, our vegetables, and our customers.

Here's what we found:

We saved $33.93 shopping at Delicious Organics! Actually more because many items are priced per pound. For example, the hard squash there was $1.99 per lb and we offer it at $1.18 per lb so if the Butternut was 3 pounds, we'd actually have a savings of $2.43 but for our calculations below we only show a savings of $.81.

They had limited organic produce. We have a better organic selection at Delicious Organics! They did NOT have any organic: Limes, Bananas, Fennel, Parsnip, Asparagus, Artichokes, Eggplant, Bell Peppers (red, yellow, or orange peppers), Pineapple, Green Beans, fresh English Peas, Sugar Snap Peas, Snow Peas, Escarole, Florida Avocados, Rutabagas, Watermelon Radish, Celery Root, Kohlrabi, Daikon Radish, Sunchokes, All Red Potatoes, Purple Potatoes, Oriental Sweet Potatoes, many Fingerling Potatoes, Shallots, many kinds of Hard Squash, Sapote, Mangos, and more. And as one of our customers had told us, our prices of ORGANIC were comparable or LESS than many of their CONVENTIONAL products! We were shocked! And they flat out told us that some things, like Bananas and Blueberries weren't even available organic. WRONG!

Whatever they did have organic, was limited in quantity so we didn't have much from which to choose.

Some of the quality was very good and some very poor. The 4 organic cucumbers they had, for example, were all wrinkled. We have a better quality at Delicious Organics!

They had NO organic Just Tomatoes products. Delicious Organics carries Organic Just Cherries, Organic Just Peaches, Organic Just Mangos, Organic Just Strawberries, Organic Just Blueberries, Organic Just Raspberries, Organic Just Peas, Organic Just Corn, Organic Mixed Veggies, Organic Just Carrots, Organic Just Tomatoes, Organic Just Black Beans, as well as some conventional Just Tomatoes products that you requested and are not yet available organic. Our prices of ORGANIC Just Tomatoes products were about the same as their conventional products! For example, we both carry the conventional Just Gone Bananas; they sell theirs at $5.39 while our price is $4.60!

They had NO grass-fed dairy products! We carry Organic Grass-Fed Dairy.

They had NO organic deli meats. Delicious Organics carries ORGANIC Applegate Farms Deli Meats. Our prices of ORGANIC deli meats were about the same as their hormone- and antibiotic-free deli meats.

They had NO grass-fed Meats! We only carry grass-fed meats and now we even offer ORGANIC Grass-Fed Meat!

In the meat department, we asked if they had organic chicken. The butcher said "those over there are all organic." "Really? This Bell and Evans is organic?" "yeah, they are all the same, they feed them all the same, they aren't CERTIFIED organic but they're the same." PAH! There are real differences between organic and conventional chickens. We offer Organic Chicken and Kosher Organic Poultry!

Unlike the grocery stores, our mark-up is minimal; but the big stores command better prices on the items since they buy in such huge quantity. Unlike the stores, we focus on organics even though there is less money in organics, which is why they focus on conventional produce.
