About Me

There is a lot of information in the web site; what are your credentials?

There is so much information out there.  There is also a lot of conflicting information.  And new articles come out every day.  It's hard to keep up on everything and it's hard to figure out what to do.  Because of that, many of us just give up.

Once I became pregnant with my first child, my husband and I started looking into a healthier lifestyle.  The information was overwhelming and we did make some changes but there were still so many more things to learn that I just didn't know what to do.  In time, and after more children, we decided we had to make a commitment to our health.  We did it for ourselves, for our children, for our future and our children's future, and, as we learned more, we did it for the environment.  Thus our tag line.  And our name to inspire healthful delicious eating and to do (Delicious Organics = DO) something about it instead of being stuck or overwhelmed

My credentials?  I'm just a concerned mom who takes a lot of time in researching all this information for my family.  I have a post graduate degree.  I was always a great note taker in school (friends always asked to borrow my notes).  I am a working mom.  I am good at synthesizing information.  I love to read and learn.  I have a huge (and ever-growing) library of books.  I subscribe to many email newsletter services.  I read and learn about issues concerning our health every day.

It was frustrating to me.  For example, I would learn in three articles that there was a danger in mercury, but I had to look for other books and information on what to do about it.  I knew that organic foods were better, but I didn't know where to get a good selection.  I heard that the conditions for hen farms who laid eggs were bad, but I never knew how bad and I was completely baffled by all the labels out there (free range, organic, free roaming, fertile, etc).  I had heard rumblings about cotton, but didn't realize the impact our decisions to buy polyester products or conventional cotton items made on the world.  There were bits of information in one article, but I had to work so hard to find out the next step to make a difference in our lives.  The information I present in this site are things that I've learned and actions we've taken to change how we live.  I take my own advice.

Before this all began, I would get questions from friends about issues or concerns they had since they knew I read a lot.  I realized that if I could synthesize this information and put it all down in an understandable format, if I could make it easier instead of overwhelming, if I could list the issues for our consideration, then it would be easier for each of us to take steps.  Throughout the site I offer links and resources so that you can further your research on any particular issue and make your own decision.  I welcome other points of view and additional information.  Please share your links, resources and opinions to be added to the site to help us all.  I use this site as a reference point too; I use the links to further my research in any given area.  The content of the site and the issues surrounding our health are updated constantly.  It is truly a work in progress and I synthesize most of it in Healthy 101, 10 Steps to Take.

I am not saying that I have all the answers.  But this site and the information contained within is a really good start and may even be a good end.  Most of us are just so busy these days; I think it's nice to have a source that goes through the issues and then the appropriate action we can take or changes we can make in our lives.

In this sea of information, we have to help one another decipher it all and get down to a basic plan of how to live a healthier, longer, more peaceful and happier life.  I'm just doing my part.

I am Annie Malka, happily married, mom of four delicious children, and passionate founder of Delicious Organics where you can get quality products and a great organic selection at a fair price delivered to your door, and where you can feel confident that you have good information at your fingertips to make a difference in your life, the lives of your children and family, the lives of farmers and communities across the globe, our environment, and our future.  Together we can.  Each of our voices is heard in what we purchase.  Every day we make a difference.  Thank you for doing your part to heal the planet every day.
