Water is
The Fountain of Youth

Pure uncontaminated water may very well be the true fountain of youth.  Eight glasses each day of real water will help defy age and age-related disease.  Our bodies crave it constantly.  A dry mouth is actually the last sign before we are dehydrated.  Most people do get dehydrated during the day because we do not drink enough water.  Water is precious and magical.  Replenish and restore by drinking 8 glasses of filtered or artesian water each day.

Water is the center of our world and of life itself.  Our bodies are 70% water.  The earth is covered 70% by water.  Almost everything depends upon water from living creatures to things we create, we need water to make it happen and keep alive.  We need water to sustain us and to purify us.  Water is used in rituals, religion, blessings, celebrations; water is a necessary part of life for every creature and plant.  It quenches our thirst and helps our bodies detoxify.  It helps us stay healthy and young looking.  It helps us feel our best.

Distilled Water Water from a pure source

Water is also alive, in a way.  Water has a beneficial structure to it.  Water that is intact transports nutrients, enzymes and proteins into cells while removing waste and toxins from our body.  Water has memory and as such is the base used in homeopathic remedies.  Distilled water is devoid of life and structure and therefore not helpful to our bodies.

Unfortunately we have contaminated the very essence of life, our water.  Our fish, our children, our future, and our health are all at risk.  We must now take extra precautions to get this much needed liquid in a pure form into and on our bodies.

When traveling, especially when flying, it's important we keep hydrated and drink plenty of water.  However, don't drink the water from the plane and don't get ice.  Instead stick with bottled water or bring your own.  The Environmental Protection Agency recently tested water on 158 randomly selected domestic and international passenger flights and found that almost 13 percent of them did not meet EPA health standards for safe drinking water.  Scary, huh?

We need water to survive and we are contaminating it every day.  We must use a clean source water or purify the water we drink, cook with, bathe in.

Children and infants are particularly susceptible.  Their bodies are not fully developed to flush out contaminants like a mature body.  Proportionately, they need to drink more water.  Children consume twice as much water than we do as adults when you compare body size and body weight!  There is no need to push children to drink water.  They will do it naturally if it's available to them and they see us setting a good example of drinking water instead of other beverages.

Therefore it's critically important that we take steps to protect ourselves and our families with a clean source of water.  Use filtered water for cooking.  Use filtered water to wash our produce.  Bathe and wash in clean water.

Children also tend to spend more time in the bath or shower so this is even more important for the growing people in our lives.  The chlorine in the shower and bath can have a devastating effect on our health.  We can easily de-chlorine our bath and shower for our health and we will notice healthier younger looking skin, softer hair, and a stronger immune system.

Finally, don't forget to look into the kind of plastic used in your bottled water.  If it tastes like plastic when you drink it, you are ingesting harmful chemicals.

Nursing moms need water to create milk for her baby.   If you're nursing, drink a glass every time you nurse, have a full glass next to you throughout the day.  Pregnant women also need to drink clean water.  Every adult and child needs to drink clean water.

How much water should the average adult consume?  The guideline is: 1/2 your body weight and then change pounds to ounces.  So if you weight 145, you should drink 72.5 ounces or drink (9) nine 8 oz glasses of water each day.

Drink at least 8 glasses of pure clean water each day.

  • Water helps the body metabolize fat.

  • Water helps convert food into energy.

  • Water helps the body remove toxins.

  • Water helps your body stay cool.

  • Water helps you fight colds and other viruses.

  • Lack of water is the #1 cause of daytime fatigue.

  • A 2% drop in body water can trigger short-term memory loss.

Thirst is one of the last signs that you are dehydrated.  When we become thirsty, the water we drink goes to all our organs and muscles which are dehydrated.  If you salivate a lot, it's highly likely you are thirsty too!  When we don't get enough water, our saliva glands work in overdrive to lubricate instead of using the water we're drinking to keep us moist inside.  The overactive saliva glands can actually lead to a double chin because the glands are so overactive that they get weak and drop (under the chin) and voila, the double chin!  Hurry, DRINK UP so you don't get that double chin!

The FDA regulates bottled water as:

  • Artesian water comes from an underground aquifer. The aquifer is a confined, pressurized chamber below the surface of the earth that has no porthole to the surface. As a result, the water does not come into contact with air, a feature that prevents bacterial growth. The EPA considers this water the purest because of the layers of porous rock and clay that confine it and keep it pure underground.  Delicious Organics offers natural artesian water.

  • Mineral water comes from an underground source too. Containing at least 250 parts per million of dissolved solid minerals naturally, they cannot be added to the water.

  • Spring water  also comes from an underground source.  The difference is that spring water finds its way to the surface through a fracture or fissure in the earth's surface. With spring water, there is always a porthole to the surface.

  • Distilled water is boiled and evaporated.  It has no minerals in it and the very structure of the cell of each water molecule is also stripped away; depending upon how it is treated, it may contain chemicals like nickel and aluminum.  It is not fit for human consumption.

  • Drinking water is typically tap water from a municipal water system that has been filtered through a process of reverse osmosis in an attempt to remove contaminants.

  • Tap Water is chlorinated and has added fluoride and other chemicals added through processing.  It is not fit for human consumption.  There are links between ingesting chlorinated water and cancer.  Some bottled waters actually include tap water in the mix so be careful which water you are drinking to make sure you are getting what you think you are drinking.  If drinking your tap water, make sure to get a good filter that will catch chlorine, fluoride and other added chemicals.  This will make the water taste better and be better for our bodies.  And make sure to change your filter on schedule so that you are drinking clean water.

  • Well Water is underground water that man has drilled a hole to tap.

Conclusion:  Spring Water and Artesian Water seem best.  Filtered water may not have the proper minerals.  Add a little lemon juice to help hydrate cells more effectively.
