Formaldehyde is a poison known to damage the immune and nervous system as well as cause genetic damage.  It is a carcinogen.  It can also be irritating to eyes, skin, liver, reproductive, and respiratory system.  It can also trigger asthma.  It is toxic if inhaled.  Found in many deodorizers, antiperspirants, furniture, building materials (particle board, pressed wood, plywood, and laminated wood), carpets, disinfectants, shampoos, germicides, adhesives, cosmetics (eye shadows, mascars, nail polish), furniture, and permanent press clothing.  Easily absorbed through the skin and nails, it is a VOC it evaporates when wet.  It can be found in preservatives in our food and household products with any of the following ingredients:

As a VOC (Volatile Organic Compound), formaldehyde can be readily absorbed into our body through our skin when wet.  It

Bronopol is quite common in personal care products.  It is a formaldehyde risk.  It also can cause carcinogenic nitrosamines to form.  The risk is greater when the product also contains  DEA, TEA, or MEA.

Quaternium 15 and Alkyl Ammonium Chloride are potential cardiovascular or blood toxins.  They release Formaldehyde and can be found in detergents, deodorizers, deodorants, and disinfectants.  This gets more complaints of skin irritation than practically any other preservative.
